Cassar To Race In The U S!
Well, he never thought that it could happen but it has, and Robert Cassar will be hitting the track in the US this September, only weeks away. "I have dreamed about racing in the USA ever since I was Crew Chief for Pro Bike rider, Igor Krasnowsky," Cassar explained, "Now I have been given the opportunity of a life time."
"Four years ago I met Bruce Sauer, six times AMA Prostar and two time IDBA champion, with 51 career wins, at the Prostar Pingel Thunder Nationals in Indianapolis. Over the past t wo years I have been in contact with Bruce seeking advice about my bike and its performance. When I told Bruce we were coming to the USA this year, and asked him whether he knew where I could hire a bike- he told me that I could ride for him. And so I am. I will be doing a few laps at National Trail Raceway, Columbus, Ohio to test the bike in preparation for the 41st US Prostar Nationals at Atco Raceway, Atco New Jersey."
The event is on 29 and 30 September and the bike on which Robert is racing is described by Bruce "The winningest bike in the USA. With six National Championships and 42 national events it has to be a record." The bike will not be unfamiliar to Cassar as it is a Z1000 Kawasaki.
An obviously excited Cassar is looking forward to getting on the bike. "I am looking forward to the experience of racing with some of the best in the business and being a part of the action at such an event. So the leathers are packed and so is the crew- my wife Katie, sister Rose and Crew Chief Peter-wish me luck! I will provide an update upon my return."
